Production Log 8

•What progress did you make since your previous entry? 

I had made a progression on editing this week, what I had edited was, the vox pox that we had did in Denmark, we had cut the answers down to a make to stay within the time limits. What we had also did this week was that we had film one of out interview with a man that had suffered from depression. What had also filmed was the filler and scenery shots of Barking and Dagenham.

•What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

The Logistical challenge that we had face this week was that we were not on track, as our schedules
is coming to a end. What I had done about this is that we had organized realistic dates, that we will be
editing the final cut of the documentary, are the other to experts.

•What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?

The technical challenge that I had face this week was that the day of shooting the interview with the victim that had suffered from depression, was that the camera battery had died, minutes before we had started it, luckily we had an extra batteries on us, and the charger for the batter, as we had two back up for this moment. We had also faced a challenge in editing, we had experienced a missing sound file, which was a non-copyright music, we had resolved this was by my partner for this project had all of the music used in a playlist on YouTube.

•What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?

Our target for next weeks entry is to film the two experts that we had booked dates for and also file
the cutaways for the two as well. I would also like to edit the footage and started and hopefully
create a final draft of the documentary piece.

•What progress did you make since your previous entry? 

The Progression that I had made this week was that I had sorted out the expert that we want to film and include in our documentary. I had also made a development to the edit of the documentary, What I had done this week was that I had edited the introduction of the documentary. we had also edited the montage and the open in demark section. We had then starting to add facts and statistic towards the end of the week.

•What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

The logistical challenge that I had faced this week was that, the expert that we had initially wanted to
get was not corresponding with us, as there had not given a clear date to film. How we overcame this
was by calling the expert that we wanted to get, as we had called dozen of councilor Doctors,
Pharmacist and University lectures. We have managed to get a Doctor and a councilor as expert to
interview, but are booked for the week ahead.

•What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?

We had faced one technical challenge during the editing of our documentary. We had experienced a
problem with the rendering, as there was a cut of frame within some shot. How we had resolved this
was by deleting the footage file and then importing it again and placed it on the timelines.
 

•What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?

The target that we have for the next entry is to continuing with our editing. what we would like to
complete is the editing of the vox pox that we had did in Denmark. What I would like to start piece
up each of the section together to gat a feel of what it would look like. What I then would like to do is
file the sections of the vox pox in Barking and Dagenham and film the cinematic and filler shots that
we may have.

•What progress did you make since your previous entry? 

The progressions I have made this week, is that I have uploaded the footage that we had filmed in Copenhagen to the mac to edit on final cut x,  I have started to edit the footage on final cut x. What I did is that I  had sycned the sound and the footage together and edited the travel montage. What we had also did for this week is that we had filmed the introduction and recoded the voice over in valentines Park we had also got cinematic shots to placed in as cutaways.

•What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

The logistical challenges that we had faced was that the conditions of the weather was windy, meant that the sound was hard to capture how we had resolved this is that we had faced the camera in a positions that  the camera man was blocking the wind and only capture the sound of the presenter speaking.

•What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?

The technical challenge that we had faced during the uploading of the footage is that when i and gone to upload the footage from the second memory card, there was an error of the cards transfer was not correct, how I had resolve this is that I had uploaded the footage to the mackintosh hard drive, as this was more reliable.

•What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?

My target that i intent to complete next entry is that I would like to interview the expert that will be in the documentary, I would also continue with the editing, what i would like to do is edit the beginning of the music video.

•What progress did you make since your previous entry? 

The progression that I had made this week is that we as a crew went out to Copenhagen Denmark and  filmed the last segment of the documentary, What we had filmed while we were out there is vox pox, piece to camera and many scenery shots of Copenhagen. We had spend a whole there there gathering the public information of what there found happy we had asked the questions that we had came up with in our research.

•What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

The logistical challenges that I had faced is finding people in Copenhagen that spoke English and that
were confident enough to speak on camera. How we had over come this is that we had asked people
that were our age or close to our age to be interviewed, and we had go the the city university to find
people to interview. 

•What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?

The technical challenges that we had faced during the time at Copenhagen is that the camera battery ran our during the recording of one of the interview, how we had overcome this is that we had spear battery available and we had swapped out the battery and continued to record.

•What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?

What I intend to do for my next log is that I intend to upload the footage to Mac, ready to edit on
final cut x. I also intent to record in valentines park the intro of the documentary and the voice
over or were potentially a cinematic scene, i would potential work on a facts and statistics graphics
to places later on in the documentary.

•What progress did you make since your previous entry?


The progression that i made in this entry is that i had finally complete the logistical paper work. What I had finished off was the location recce of the locations we will be using, the locations safety was the potential hazard that may be happen, i had also completed the final contact list and the emailed them to ask them if there would like to get interview for as documentary.

•What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

The logistical challenges that we had faced was getting to the the safety in Copenhagen, as there
may be rules, that we may need to follow from filming, how we had resolved this is that we had
researched some of the rules and we had a conformation of what we could film. As there was a
monument that was not legal to film and capture picture there.

•What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?

The technical challenges that we had faced, was that the upload of the file to good docs was
not successful for the location safety. How I had resolved this was by uploading the footage to one
drive instead of google docs. This was successful and manages to places it to our blogger.

•What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?

What I intent to do for my next entry is to travel to Denmark and filming the sections what we need.
I would like to record vox pox, piece to camera and  gather some cinematic shot.I would also would
want to set up the file for edit and begin to start. I am hoping to contact back someone of the expert
that we had emailed and see when it would be the best time to film the expert section of the
documentary.

•What progress did you make since your previous entry?

The progression fro this week that i had developed questions that I would be asking the public , in barking & Dagenham and Copenhagen. I had wrote down 4 question for the public and five question for the expert that are going to interview. I had also created a clear structured narrative arc that we have in idea to follow when creating our music video.

•What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

The logistical challenges that we had faced was we had to develop question for the expert that may
put them one the spot and ruin there reputation, how we had resolved this is by asking the question to
our self as see if this could hurt the reputation of my business or my image. The challenge that we
had faced with the narrative arc process that I had little to non knowledge of that the sections look
like, i had resolved this by using other other documentary and see that the sections should look like to
all me to get an image to my head in order to create a narrative arc.

•What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?

What technical challenges that I had faced during this week entry was non at all, as we had
completed the task without an technical error from the computer.

•What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?

What I intent to do in my next entry is that i would like to to complete all of the logistics of the
documentary before we start film. I would like to complete the the crew list, location recce and risk
assessment. paper work in order to start filming the documentary.

•What progress did you make since your previous entry?

The progression that I have made from my previous entry is that I have researched about the legal and ethical codes, which I will have to follow when in productions of the documentary. What I had also researched about is the same or alike types of documentary to our that had been broadcast ed and gathers reaches of the structure there where formed at and the time and dates they were broadcast ed to get an idea of when our documentary should be placed.

•What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

We did not face any logistical challenges this we, as we were on track this log and had a clear structure of how I was going to complete this work.

•What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?

The technical challenge that I had faced is that it was difficult to find documentary that where alike to the same idea that we had thought of. Google was no help when filtering out documentary as we had to go the site individual and look at the documentary to see if they have the same  type of idea that we had, what we did is that researched about documentary that where close to the idea of happiness.

•What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?

The target for my next entry is to create a final proposal of the documentary, and clear out the sections and clear of what there are gong to be were. We will also state the questions of , who, what , where , when. What I also intent to is to create a narrative arc of documentary to get a idea of how the documentary may be structured in.

 •What progress did you make since your previous entry?

This is the first productions log that we have started. The work that we had started , was the finalised decision of the topic that we are going to the the documentary on and it was Happiness. We had researched and found information that we intent to include in the documentary. and to find out information that may help us with the documentary. I had gathered content information that we could potential interview for the documentary, we had found e-mail and phone number from number of people, such as life coaches, psychiatrist physiologist and happiness experts.

•What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

The logistical challenge that i had filmed this week, was while getting secondary information was
that many website had different facts tom offer, how we had resolved this was that we had got many
different sites and picked the more repetitive information about happiness.

•What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?

The technical challenges that had faced is that it was hard to find contact information online,
because most of the personally information was private , as i had to get there business contact
information. How i had overcome this is that I had found many experts that were self employed and
had direct contact to for there business.

•What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?

The target that I aim to complete for the next log will be to research about the legal and ethical
codes of filming a documentary and the laws of filming in public. What I also intent to do is to find
out information from similar types of documentary that we are going to produces and gather
inspirations to put into my own documentary.
